Indications for use, specifying the target species
Bovine: treatment and prevention (where diagnosis was confirmed) of pasteurelosis, pneumonia, pleuritis, anctinobacilosis, diphtheria, necrobacilosis, abscesses, soft tissue infections, mastitis, pericarditis, keratoconjunctivitis, prevention of postpartum and post-operatory infections due to germs sensitives to oxytetracycline.
Sheep and goats: prevention of enzootic abortion, pneumonia and pleurisies (where diagnosis was confirmed), treatment of pododermatitis, mastitis, metritis, omphalitis, abscesses, soft tissue infections; prevention of postpartum and post-operatory infections due to germs sensitives to oxytetracycline.
Swine: treatment and prevention (where diagnosis was confirmed) of pasteurelosis, pneumonia, pleuritis, MMA syndrome, erysipelas, mastitis, omphalitis, atrophic rhinitis, abscesses, soft tissue infections; prevention of postpartum and post-operatory infections due to germs sensitives to oxytetracycline.
Composition
1 ml of injectable solution contains Oxytetracycline 200 mg
Amounts to be administered and administration route
Intramuscular route.
20 mg oxytetracycline/kg bw in a single injection, i.e. 1 ml of injectable solution per 10 kg body weight.
If the clinical signs persist a second injection of 20 mg oxytetracycline/kg bw can be administered, after 72 hour from the first.
To ensure a correct dosage body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing.
Withdrawal period
Meat and offal: 21 days
Milk: 7 days (14 milkings)
Storage
Shelf-life of the veterinary medicinal product as package for sale: 3 years. Shelf-life after first opening the immediate package: 28 days. Store below 25°C.
Packaging
Type II brown glass vials or multi-layer high density polypropylene, closed with chlorobutyl stoppers and aluminum and plastic flip capsule.
